OSCAR Nomination - Buzkashi Boys (2013)

What a huge honor it has been hearing that a short film I wrote music on has been nominated for an OSCAR in the Best Short Film (Live Action) category for 2013! I can't believe it!

Writing for Sam French's film Buzkashi Boys has given me a lot of opportunities to expand my serious dramatic scoring sensibilities. A departure from my recent work in light-hearted kids entertainment, I truly enjoyed working on this film of a much more serious tone.

The score is rather minimal in overall size with solo cello, solo piano and a lot of lighter string harmonics. Watch the full film from Vice below.
